Who We Are

Bossador ("we", "us", "our") is a private community platform operated by Bossador — The Awaken Circle, a company registered in England and Wales. Our platform is available at bossador.mumbossador.com and is designed exclusively as a networking and community space for women.

We are the data controller for all personal data collected through the platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Data We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Name and email address — collected at registration and used to identify your account
  • Profile photo — uploaded voluntarily to personalise your community profile
  • Payment information — collected to process subscription payments; card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers
  • Any additional information you choose to add to your profile (bio, location, professional background)

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and analytics data — pages visited, features used, session duration, and interactions within the platform
  • Device type, browser, operating system, and IP address
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Cookies section below)

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes, each grounded in a lawful basis under UK GDPR:

  • To provide the platform (contractual necessity) — creating and managing your account, processing payments, and delivering the features you sign up for
  • To personalise your experience (legitimate interest) — showing relevant content, connection suggestions, and community activity based on your profile
  • To communicate with you (contractual necessity / legitimate interest) — sending service emails, newsletters you subscribe to, and important account notifications
  • To improve the platform (legitimate interest) — analysing usage patterns to fix bugs, improve features, and understand how members use Bossador
  • To comply with legal obligations — retaining records as required by UK law and responding to lawful requests from authorities

We will never sell your personal data to third parties, use it for advertising purposes unrelated to Bossador, or share it with any organisation outside of what is described in this policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or any unrelated organisations.

Your data may be accessed only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Payment processors — to process subscription fees securely under binding contracts, prohibited from using your data for their own purposes
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting and cloud services that store data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements
  • Legal requirements — if we are required by law, court order, or regulatory authority to disclose information

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it longer to comply with legal obligations (such as financial records, which we retain for 6 years as required by UK law).

Usage and analytics data may be retained in anonymised form for longer periods for platform improvement purposes.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

As a UK-based service, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal obligations
  • Right to restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest, including for direct marketing
  • Rights related to automated decision-making — we do not use solely automated processes to make decisions that significantly affect you

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@mumbossador.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. These include:

  • Essential cookies — required for the platform to function (authentication, session management)
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how members use features so we can improve the experience

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use the platform.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@mumbossador.com.

Children's Privacy

Bossador is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please contact us and we will promptly delete their account and data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a notice on the platform. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of Bossador after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
